Getting new countertops in your kitchen is exciting, after all, it is a considerable investment. But there are a few things that you can do, and a few things that you should avoid with your new countertops. L&E Marble and Granite will answer a question that we get asked quite often: can I put hot pans on my kitchen countertops?
Granite Countertops. Granite is a natural stone, which means that it's really sturdy. If you occassionally put a hot pan, although try not to make it a habit, as over time it can damage the sealant that protects the granite countertops. So technically you can put hot pans on granite countertops, but don't make a habit out of it.
Quartz Countertops. The same applies to quartz countertps. Try to avoid doing it very often, as discoloration can occur, and mess up your quartz countertops. Use a trivet or perhaps a cutting board when putting hot pans on quartz.
Marble Countertops. Marble countertops should be treated with more gentleness, as it is 'weaker' than granite and quartz. This is also one of the reasons why marble isn't recommended for high-traffic kitchens, but it's recommended on bathrooms, fireplaces, etc.
